Netpia started developing
the "Koren Language Internet Address" in 1997 to address
the inconvenience caused by the English characters in the Internet
Address. Netpia founder and pioneers wanted to establish a mechanism
that will no longer require Koreans to enter any English characters
in the address bar, and effectively eliminate hierarchies like "www",
"com", "net", etc.
In the process of simplifying the use of the Internet
Address bar, Netpia has found a way to make the Internet more business-friendly
through the use of specific (native language) keywords in locating
a specific website. Through the NLIA, Netpia has enabled the use
of personal names, company titles, product/brand names, telephone
numbers, and even anniversaries as the main Internet Address. Very
simple!
